Blind Assessment
Evaluated as espresso. Deep-toned, balanced and dessert-like. Black cherry, dark chocolate, roasted hazelnut, caramel and clove in aroma and small cup. Full, creamy mouthfeel; substantial, sweet-toned finish with notes of dark chocolate, roasted hazelnut and clove. In cappuccino format, caramel and chocolate expand around the fruit, while hazelnut carries into the finish.
Notes
A blend of washed and natural-processed coffees from Brazil, Ethiopia, Guatemala and Colombia, tested as espresso. Mystic Monk Coffee is a small-batch roaster associated with a Carmelite monastery located in the Rocky Mountains of northern Wyoming. The monks emphasize an artisan approach to roasting and a commitment to quality. Visit www.mysticmonkcoffee.com or call 877-751-6377 for more information.
Bottom Line
A richly satisfying espresso blend built around dark chocolate, caramel and hazelnut notes, with enough fruit and spice to add complexity; especially harmonious in milk.
