Blind Assessment
Rich, earthy-sweet, quietly fruit-toned. Notes of tamarind, cedar, molasses, walnut and dried plum in aroma and cup. Round, balanced acidity; syrupy body. The finish is smooth and sweet-savory, emphasizing wood and spice tones with a hint of fruit.
Notes
Produced by smallholding farmers and processed by Hauma Agro Antarnusa by the semi-washed (AKA honey) method, in which some of the fruit flesh is left on the beans during the drying process; roasted by Rajawall, LLC. Hauma is a coffee trading and processing company based on Samosir Island in Lake Toba, Sumatra. Visit www.haumatyourservice.com for more information.
Bottom Line
A characteristically deep-toned semi-washed Sumatra with layered spice, dried fruit and molasses sweetness.
