Blind Assessment: Sweetly pungent, delicately rich. Candied pecan, cocoa, tangerine, sweet flowers in aroma and cup. Softly bright, balanced acidity; light but very plush mouthfeel. The finish is sweet, deep, and saturated with floral and cocoa suggestions.
Notes: This, only the second blend ever created by Old Soul, commemorates its 10th anniversary. It combines a classic Brazil from trees of the heirloom Yellow Bourbon variety, a Nicaragua Los Congos from the Pacamara variety, and a juicy, dried-in-the-fruit “natural” coffee from southern Ethiopia. Old Soul is a roastery, bakery and crafter of artisan goods dedicated to quality in every form. Visit www.oldsoulco.com or call 916-443-7685 for more information.
The Bottom Line: Balanced, complete, with a subtle, deeply layered complexity. A versatile cup, quietly vibrant as a black coffee but authoritative with whitener.
