Blind Assessment
Gently fruit-forward, balanced and confident. Blood orange, dried red plum, hazelnut, agave syrup, pink peppercorn in aroma and cup. Sparkling acidity; silky, viscous mouthfeel. Resonant finish consolidates to notes of blood orange and hazelnut.
Notes
Produced by Fang Zhenglun of Zouzhouyuan Coffee Estate, entirely of the So’ngna variety of Arabica, and processed by the natural method (dried in the whole fruit). Zouzhouyuan Coffee Estate was founded by Fang Zhenglun, a member of the Tsou indigenous group. Originally a high-mountain tea farmer, he shifted to coffee cultivation more than 20 years ago and has since become a pioneer in Taiwan’s specialty coffee movement. The estate now cultivates over 70 genetically verified coffee varieties. Visit Zouzhouyuan’s online store for more information.
Bottom Line
This delicate, high-toned Taiwan So’gna (a newly designated variety of Arabica) is elegant, juicy, subtly spice-toned and enticingly complex.
