  • El Salvador Malacara Pulped Natural

Roast: Medium Review Date: September 2012
Origin: Volcan de Santa Ana regioin, El Salvador. Price: $17.99/16 ounces

Blind Assessment: Soft, delicate. Orange and milk chocolate suggestions in aroma and cup. Gently round acidity; smooth though slightly lean mouthfeel. Flavor persists in a quietly resonant finish.

Notes: This coffee was processed using the pulped natural variation on the honey method, meaning that the outer skin is removed as it is in the wet process, but the sticky fruit residue is allowed to dry in its entirety on the bean and later removed by machine along with the parchment skin. Coffee, more so than wine, is a continually changing product. Recent reviews, whether written by Coffee Review or readers, are most likely to reflect current versions of a given coffee.
