Roast: Very-Dark Review Date: February 1997
Origin: Various Price: NA

Blind Assessment: This coffee arrived pre-ground (not available whole bean), perhaps accounting for its flatness in nose and cup, although some herbal or prune notes survive in the thin, carbon-toned acidity.

Notes: Arrived pre-ground, perhaps accounting for flatness in nose and cup. Thin, carbon-toned acidity.

Who Should Drink It: People who don't know any better than to order coffee from a chocolate manufacturer who puts four-color ads in national magazines. Cheap shots aside, at a little lighter roast the herbal or fruit notes might make this an interesting coffee. As it is, it's probably too thin-bodied for the West Coast and too burned for the East.

Coffee, more so than wine, is a continually changing product. Recent reviews, whether written by Coffee Review or readers, are most likely to reflect current versions of a given coffee.
