Blind Assessment:

A pure, ready-to-drink bottled coffee tested over ice. A sweetly tart structure dominates quiet, layered flavors: lavender-like flowers, milk chocolate, orangy citrus. Richly tart, drying acidity; round, syrupy mouthfeel. Flavor consolidates with the addition of cold milk; the orange, lavender and chocolate notes mute but pleasingly survive.

Prepared by the cold-brew method, which involves prolonged steeping of ground coffee in cold or room-temperature water and subsequent filtering. Bottled and sold without additives or any ingredient other than coffee and water. Stumptown Coffee is a small-batch premium roasting company that wholesales its coffees as well as serves them custom brewed by the cup in its Portland cafés. Under the enthusiastic leadership of Duane Sorenson, Stumptown has become a leading buyer and roaster of elite, small-lot coffees and has expanded its operations to both coasts.
