Blind Assessment:

Crisp, cedary, gently brisk. Hazelnut, caramel, lavender-like flowers, kumquat in aroma and cup. Richly dry acidity; lightly syrupy mouthfeel. Sweet-toned though mildly drying in the finish with a hint of savory depth.

This coffee, from the farm of Margarita Ramirez, was prepared at the innovating wet mill La Palma y el Tucan, using carefully calibrated fermentation methods based on research at a nearby university. OQ Coffee is a New Jersey-based small-batch roasting company that emphasizes its commitment to coffee quality and community-building. Visit www.oqcoffee.com for more information.

Who Should Drink It: Those who enjoy brisk rather than bright coffees: lavender, nut and aromatic wood supported by a pleasing caramelly sweetness.
