Kenya AA Nyeri Tatu by Ancora Coffee Roasters Review |
  • Ancora Coffee Roasters

    Madison, Wisconsin
  • Kenya AA Nyeri Tatu

Roast: Dark Review Date: September 2002
Origin: South-central Kenya Price: NA

Blind Assessment: The moderately dark-roast style mutes the Kenya fruit and gives it a roasty, tart pineapple twist that softens toward a toasty chocolate in the finish. The darkish roast may transform the Kenya character, but the transformation is quite pleasurable in its own right.

Notes: Tatu is a cooperative located in the Nyeri growing region above 5,000 feet in elevation. Besides pursuing the "Small Batch Artisan Roasting" it proclaims in its motto, Ancora Coffee Roasters operates both a well-known Madison, Wisconsin coffee house and a colorful and engaging website. Who Should Drink It: This elegant dark roast coffee, with character and complexity but without bitterness, should appeal to those who drink dark roasts for reasons of pleasure rather than machismo.

Coffee, more so than wine, is a continually changing product. Recent reviews, whether written by Coffee Review or readers, are most likely to reflect current versions of a given coffee.
