    LaGrande, Oregon
  • Elders Blend Gourmet Mayan Coffee

Roast: NA Review Date: September 2000
Origin: Chiapas State, southern Mexico. Price: NA

Blind Assessment: Light-footed but discreetly smooth, almost creamy, with a lovely balance of acidy and sweet tones. Hints of fruit turn cocoaish toward the finish. Limited but elegant.

Notes: Light-footed but discreetly smooth, almost creamy, with a lovely balance of acidy and sweet tones. Hints of fruit turn cocoaish toward the finish. Apparently a blend of the same coffee brought to two distinctly different degrees of roast. Blue Mountain Trading Company both imports and roasts this organically grown and Fair-Trade Certified coffee.

Who Should Drink It: Well-dressed activists. Despite the rustic isolation of LaGrande, Oregon, this strikes me as an urbane, little black dress sort of coffee.

Coffee, more so than wine, is a continually changing product. Recent reviews, whether written by Coffee Review or readers, are most likely to reflect current versions of a given coffee.
