Roast: NA Review Date: November 1999
Origin: Central America, Indonesia Price: NA

Blind Assessment: The earthy tones of the Indonesias dominate, sweet in the nose but dry and cocoa-like on the palate. A hint of winy fruit tries to raise its head above the dry earth and cocoa but subsides into the taciturn briskness of the cup.

Notes: The earthy tones of the Indonesias dominate, sweet in the nose but dry and cocoa-like on the palate. The slight earthy or musty hardness contributed by the Indonesia coffees in this blend is a controversial flavor note, but many coffee drinkers appear to enjoy it.

Who Should Drink It: The combination of dry, brisk mid-tones and earthy bottom produces a quirky breakfast coffee with additional murkily exotic after dinner possibilities. Try it brewed drip with a shot of brandy and a dollop of whipped cream.

Coffee, more so than wine, is a continually changing product. Recent reviews, whether written by Coffee Review or readers, are most likely to reflect current versions of a given coffee.
