  • Guatemala Finca Armenia Yellow Bourbon

Roast: Medium-Light Review Date: September 2013
Origin: Huehuetenango growing region, Guatemala. Price: $15.95/12 ounces

Blind Assessment: Deep, complex. Honey, dark chocolate, orange, night-blooming flowers in aroma and cup. Juicy, lively acidity; lightly syrupy mouthfeel. Orange and chocolate notes in particular carry into a crisp finish.

Notes: Composed entirely of beans from the yellow-fruited strain of the heirloom Bourbon variety of Arabica, this coffee was produced by farmers Jorge and Javier Recinos on their farm Nueva Armenia. Seattle Coffee Works is a small-batch retail and wholesale roasting company focused on quality and green coffee sourcing without compromise. Who Should Drink It: Classically deep-toned, pungently chocolaty Huehuetenango for fans of the type and the style.

Coffee, more so than wine, is a continually changing product. Recent reviews, whether written by Coffee Review or readers, are most likely to reflect current versions of a given coffee.
