Panama Elida by Kean Coffee Review | CoffeeReview.com

Roast: Medium Review Date: September 2013
Origin: Boquete growing region, Chiriqui Province, western Panama. Price: $14.95/12 ounces

Blind Assessment: Subtle, softly complex. Rounded fresh-cut fir, roasted cacao nib, honeyish meadow flowers in aroma and cup. Round, resonant acidity; very lightly syrupy mouthfeel. A hint of citrus turns up in a quietly rich finish.

Notes: From the celebrated Panama farm Finca Lerida. With two locations in Southern California's Orange County, Kean Coffee is an in-house coffee roaster and retailer established by Martin Diedrich of the distinguished Diedrich coffee family. The Kean slogan, "Martin knows his beans" should be true, considering Martin grew up in Guatemala where his family owned a coffee farm. Who Should Drink It: Those who prefer subtlety and balance to brightness and power.

Coffee, more so than wine, is a continually changing product. Recent reviews, whether written by Coffee Review or readers, are most likely to reflect current versions of a given coffee.
