  • OneCoffee Ethiopian (single-serve cup)

Roast: Medium-Dark Review Date: August 2013
Origin: Southern Ethiopia. Price: CAD $9.99/12 single-serve cups

Blind Assessment: As brewed in a Keurig B70 Platinum single-serve brewing device using a "OneCoffee" Keurig-compatible capsule to produce a 6-ounce serving: Sweet-toned and gracefully citrusy. Candied lemon, night-blooming flowers, a hint of honey in aroma and cup. Delicately crisp acidity; lively, light but silky mouthfeel. Rich, lemony, slightly drying finish.

Notes: Certified organically grown and Fair Trade certified, meaning this coffee was purchased from small-holding farmers at a "fair" or economically sustainable price. OneCoffee cups are an innovative biodegradable design of single-serve coffee capsule (really a combination of pod and capsule) compatible with the widely distributed Keurig line of single-cup brewing devices. Canterbury Coffee is Western Canada’s largest specialty roaster, with a wide range of coffee brands, including the new OneCoffee single-serve line. Who Should Drink It: A fine, accessible Keurig-compatible version of the citrus and flowers cup for which Ethiopia is famous.

Coffee, more so than wine, is a continually changing product. Recent reviews, whether written by Coffee Review or readers, are most likely to reflect current versions of a given coffee.
