Roast: Medium-Light Review Date: August 2013
Origin: Ka'u growing district, Big Island of Hawaii Price: $32.95/12 ounces

Blind Assessment: Sweet, pungent, triumphantly juicy. Honey, very sweet-toned, fresh-cut fir, night-blooming flowers and a zesty orange note in aroma and cup. Brightly sweet, lush acidity; big, syrupy mouthfeel. Deep, quietly flavor-saturated finish.

Notes: Ka'u is a newly emerging Hawaii coffee growing district centered thirty miles or so southeast of the famous Kona region. This 100% Ka’u coffee was developed by Miguel Meza and Lorie Obra of Isla Custom Coffees. Paradise Roasters specializes in micro-lot coffees and espressos from Hawaii and other premier coffee growing regions. The company prides itself on quality and freshness, craft-roasting coffees in small batches only after orders are placed. Visit www.paradiseroasters.com or call 763-433-0626 for more information.

Who Should Drink It: Classic honey, aromatic fir, flowers and citrus notes on steroids; intense, juicy, complete.

Coffee, more so than wine, is a continually changing product. Recent reviews, whether written by Coffee Review or readers, are most likely to reflect current versions of a given coffee.
