Blind Assessment: Nice range of aroma and flavor, ranging from a honey and raisiny dark chocolate to pepper and pine hints to a shimmer of meadowy flowers. Backgrounded but vibrant acidity; lightly syrupy mouthfeel. Sweet-toned, balanced finish.

Notes: Certified organically grown and produced at an elevation of around 5,000 feet from trees of the Caturra variety of Arabica. Blue Bottle Coffee so admired the work of farmer José Luis Medrano that it purchased his entire production for this crop year. Blue Bottle started as the quintessential boutique coffee business: a micro-roasting operation in Oakland housed inside a space about as large as a suburban walk-in closet and a single retail location in San Francisco.
