Paradise Roasters Costa Rica Rio Jorco: Coffee Review
Roast: Medium-Light Review Date: July 2013
Origin: Costa Rica Price: $15.95/12 ounces

Blind Assessment: Briskly sweet, floral-toned. Cinnamon, orange blossom, orange zest, roasted cacao nib in aroma and cup. Crisp acidity; silky mouthfeel. Flavor consolidates in a drying though rich finish.

Notes: This is a “honey” coffee, meaning the skin was removed from the coffee fruit immediately after picking but the beans or seeds were dried with at least some of the fruit pulp or “honey” still adhering to them. This practice contrasts to the more conventional wet or washed method, wherein both skin and pulp are removed from the beans before drying. Paradise Roasters specializes in micro-lot coffees and espressos from Hawaii and other premier coffee growing regions. The company prides itself on quality and freshness, craft-roasting coffees in small batches only after orders are placed. Visit or call 763-433-0626 for more information.

Who Should Drink It: Those who enjoy brisk floral-toned beverages that are delicate yet authoritative.

Coffee, more so than wine, is a continually changing product. Recent reviews, whether written by Coffee Review or readers, are most likely to reflect current versions of a given coffee.
