Roast: Medium-Light Review Date: June 2013
Origin: Mandheling growing region, northern Sumatra, Indonesia. Price: NT $800/16 ounces

Blind Assessment: Crisply sweet; unusual aromatics: honey, star fruit, candied pecan, orange zest, a hint of pink peppercorn in aroma and cup. Brightly expansive acidity; lightly syrupy mouthfeel. Sweetly peppery, zesty finish.

Notes: Mandheling is a term variously used to describe a growing region surrounding Lake Toba in North Sumatra Province and a traditional type of wet-hulled coffee associated with that region. Who Should Drink It: The Sumatra wet-hulled profile takes on a sweet yet zesty, peppery character in this fine lighter-roasted variation on the style.
