Espresso Review - Neo Mocha-Java by Simon Hsieh
93
Roast: Medium-Dark Review Date: May 2013
Origin: Not disclosed. Price: NT $1200/16 ounces

Blind Assessment: Evaluated as espresso. Big, deep, complex. Dark chocolate, lush night-blooming flowers, walnut, tangerine in aroma and small cup. Full, dense mouthfeel; chocolate and flowers dominate in a sweet, richly drying finish. Chocolate fudge, walnut and flowers in three parts milk.

Notes: This exceptional coffee was selected as the #28 coffee in the Coffee Review Top 30 Coffees of 2013. In addition to his retail roasting operation Aroma Roast Coffees, Simon Hsieh also operates Soaring Phoenix Trading, a business focused on purposed-built commercial espresso blends and high quality single-origin coffees. Who Should Drink It: Deep, richly forceful espresso both in milk and as a straight shot.

Coffee, more so than wine, is a continually changing product. Recent reviews, whether written by Coffee Review or readers, are most likely to reflect current versions of a given coffee.
