Roast: Medium Review Date: April 2013
Origin: Cauca Department, Colombia; Illubabor, Ethiopia; Santa Ana region, El Salvador. Price: HK $98/165 grams

Blind Assessment: Evaluated as espresso. Rich, tartly sweet. Wisteria, ripe passion-fruit, dark chocolate, a hint of fresh turmeric in aroma and small cup. Lightly syrupy mouthfeel. Long, flavor-saturated, gently drying finish. In two- to four-parts milk, continuing suggestions of chocolate and crisp passion-fruit balance a cooling hint of mint or tumeric.

Notes: This coffee is a blend of three select green coffees, one from the small village of Inza in Colombia, one from the Bedele Sota cooperative in Ethiopia, and one a lot from Finca Siberia in El Salvador that consists entirely of the heirloom Bourbon variety. The Coffee Academïcs is a purveyor and roaster of specialty coffee in Hong Kong since 2012. Visit www.the-coffeeacademics.com or call +852-3104-0075 for more information.

Who Should Drink It: Those who enjoy complex, discreetly exotic espresso blends.

Coffee, more so than wine, is a continually changing product. Recent reviews, whether written by Coffee Review or readers, are most likely to reflect current versions of a given coffee.
