Roast: Dark Review Date: April 2013
Origin: Ethiopia; Sumatra; Papua New Guinea; Colombia. Price: $9.99/12 K-Cups

Blind Assessment: (As brewed in a Keurig B70 Platinum single-serve brewing device using a Keurig-compatible capsule to produce a 6-ounce serving): Crisp, rather deep, quietly complex. Roasted cacao nib, walnut, orangy fruit, a hint of flowers in aroma and cup. Roast-muted acidity; smooth mouthfeel. Sweet, chocolate-toned, though rather drying finish.

Notes: A wide range of origins in a dark-roasted K-Cup blend. Visit www.starbucks.com or call 800-782-7282 for more information.

Who Should Drink It: A satisfying dark-roasted cup for Keurig-owners. The K-Cup format seems to mute the usual bitterness of the dark roast, allowing a quiet but pleasing aromatic complexity to move forward.

Coffee, more so than wine, is a continually changing product. Recent reviews, whether written by Coffee Review or readers, are most likely to reflect current versions of a given coffee.
