Coffee Review-Kenya Nyeri AA Gaturiri byThe West Bean Coffee Roasters
94
Roast: Medium-Dark Review Date: March 2012
Origin: Nyeri growing region, central Kenya. Price: $15.99/8 ounces

Blind Assessment: Crisply tart, dry berry and pungent grapefruit dominate in aroma and cup, with rounding hints of nut-toned cocoa and caramel. Intense, brightly balanced acidity; lightly syrupy mouthfeel. Rich, dry, flavor-saturated finish.

Notes: Grown by the Kenyan Gaturiri Cooperative, this coffee consists entirely of coffee from trees of the much-admired Bourbon-derived hybrid variety SL 28. The West Bean is a San Diego-based roastery founded by two friends with a passion for coffee and a determination to bring their customers the highest quality hand-crafted coffee possible. Who Should Drink It: Those who enjoy big, dry white table wines with complex aromatics. This is an aficionado’s Kenya, elegant but uncompromising in its intense acidity and crisp, pungent fruit.

Coffee, more so than wine, is a continually changing product. Recent reviews, whether written by Coffee Review or readers, are most likely to reflect current versions of a given coffee.
