Roast: Medium-Light Review Date: March 2012
Origin: Huila growing region, Colombia. Price: $17.50/16 ounces

Blind Assessment: Richly and roundly tart. The taste of fresh coffee fruit – think tart cherry – and pungent grapefruit dominate in aroma and cup, with softening suggestions of cocoa, almond and caramel. Sweet-toned acidity; lightly syrupy mouthfeel. Dry, resonant finish.

Notes: This coffee was grown and processed by the fifty members of La Asociación Los Naranjos de San Agustin cooperative. Equator is a specialty roaster based in the San Francisco Bay Area driven by “passion for quality and sustainability.” Visit www.equatorcoffees.com or call 800-809-7687 for more information.

Who Should Drink It: Lovers of big, resonantly rich Colombias in the classic style.

Coffee, more so than wine, is a continually changing product. Recent reviews, whether written by Coffee Review or readers, are most likely to reflect current versions of a given coffee.
