Roast: Medium Review Date: February 2012
Origin: Latin America; Indonesia. Price: $15.00/12 ounces

Blind Assessment: Robust, strong-gestured coffee. Nut, citrus, fresh-cut fir and a deep, apricot-like sweetness in aroma and cup. The acidity is rich and complex though slightly astringent; the mouthfeel full though a little rough-textured. Rich finish with a salty-savory edge.

Notes: Stumptown Coffee is a small-batch premium roasting company that wholesales its coffees as well as serves them custom brewed by the cup in its Portland cafes. Under the enthusiastic leadership of Duane Sorenson, Stumptown has become a leading buyer and roaster of elite, small-lot coffees. Who Should Drink It: Those who prefer a robust, muscular richness to balance.

Coffee, more so than wine, is a continually changing product. Recent reviews, whether written by Coffee Review or readers, are most likely to reflect current versions of a given coffee.
