Roast: Medium Review Date: June 2011
Origin: Southern Ethiopia Price: CAD $14.05/12 ounces

Blind Assessment: Honey and flowers dominate in aroma and cup, complicated by coffee fruit that reads variously as lemon, fresh-cut fir, and pungent, moist pipe tobacco. Tartly sweet, floral-toned acidity; leanish, almost silky mouthfeel. Very rich, long, flavor-sustained finish.

Notes: Produced by the Sidama Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union in the Sidama region of Ethiopia and certified organic and (at origin) Fair Trade, this coffee is roasted and retailed by Equator Coffee Roasters, a company located just outside of Ottawa, Canada. Equator is a mission-driven, community-based roastery, wholesaler, and café that offers an extensive line of fine organic, sustainable coffees. Equator is a member of Cooperative Coffees, a green coffee buying cooperative dedicated to developing and maintaining long-term, mutually beneficial trade relations that contribute to environmental and economic sustainability. Who Should Drink It: Lovers of White Rieslings and other crisp, floral-toned white table wines.

Coffee, more so than wine, is a continually changing product. Recent reviews, whether written by Coffee Review or readers, are most likely to reflect current versions of a given coffee.
