Roast: Medium Review Date: December 2010
Origin: Western Ethiopia Price: $27.00/500 grams (17.6 oz.)

Blind Assessment: Evaluated as espresso. In the small cup exhilarating floral-toned aroma balanced by orange and caramel, light though smooth mouthfeel, and continued floral tones in the flavor with complications of tart berry, lemon and baking spice. The flowers become even more pronounced in two parts milk, deepened by notes of butter, citrus and cocoa.

Notes: A special selection of hand sorted coffee from Joseph Brodsky's Ninety Plus Coffee program. Ethiopian coffees like this one processed by the wet or washed method (fruit skin and pulp are removed before drying) express floral and citrus notes with particular intensity. Coava is a Portland based coffee roaster that aims to provide quality coffee and the knowledge needed to properly brew that coffee. Who Should Drink It: Impressive and distinctive floral notes carry from aroma straight into milk.

Coffee, more so than wine, is a continually changing product. Recent reviews, whether written by Coffee Review or readers, are most likely to reflect current versions of a given coffee.
