Roast: Medium-Light Review Date: August 2010
Origin: Jinotega growing region, north-central Nicaragua Price: $9.50/250 g. (8.8 oz)

Blind Assessment: Complex and pungently bold notes of toast, aromatic wood and sweet pipe tobacco in the aroma. All carry into the cup, with an added enveloping soft fruit. Silky mouthfeel. Flavor lasts well into the simple but rich finish.

Notes: From the San Jose-La Lima farm in Jinotega, one of the better-known coffee-growing regions of Nicaragua. Coava is a Portland based coffee roaster that aims to provide quality coffee and the knowledge needed to properly brew that coffee. Who Should Drink It: A rugged, straightforward cup, robustly balanced.

Coffee, more so than wine, is a continually changing product. Recent reviews, whether written by Coffee Review or readers, are most likely to reflect current versions of a given coffee.
