    Captain Cook, Hawaii
  • 100% Kona Coffee Medium Roast

Roast: Medium-Dark Review Date: August 2010
Origin: Kona growing district, "Big Island" of Hawaii. Price: $29.00/pound

Blind Assessment: Soft and round-toned but with good intensity. Flavor and aroma fuse notes of chocolate and nut with a soft, sweet-toned fruit. Balanced acidity and silky mouthfeel. Flavors simplify and fade a bit in the finish, although the chocolate character persists pleasantly.

Notes: The version of Kona Cafe's 100% Kona reviewed here was brought to a medium-dark roast. Kona Cafe is an award-winning coffee farm that sells roasted versions of its 100% Kona coffee under the Naupaka as well as the Kona Cafe brand. Coffee, more so than wine, is a continually changing product. Recent reviews, whether written by Coffee Review or readers, are most likely to reflect current versions of a given coffee.
