Roast: Medium Review Date: August 2010
Origin: Ruvuma growing region, southwestern Tanzania. Price: $11.72/12 oz.

Blind Assessment: Sweet-toned aroma: toast, fruit and caramel. In the cup classically big, bright acidity, silky mouthfeel and juicy, complex fruit: apricot, peach, black currant, tart citrus with hints of flowers and honey. The fruit in particular lingers in a flavor-saturated finish.

Notes: Produced by small-holding growers in the Ruvuma growing region, near Lake Nyasa in southwestern Tanzania. One in a series of small-lot Roasterie Reserve coffees. The Roasterie is a longtime leading, quality-oriented specialty roaster that emphasizes its commitment to "air roasting," a technology utilizing a column of hot air rather than the conventional turning drum to agitate the roasting beans. Who Should Drink It: Those who enjoy bright acidity and complex fruit character.

Coffee, more so than wine, is a continually changing product. Recent reviews, whether written by Coffee Review or readers, are most likely to reflect current versions of a given coffee.
