Coffee Review - Colombia Monserrate Huila from Temple Fine Coffee
90
Roast: Medium Review Date: August 2010
Origin: Huila Department, Colombia Price: $13.50/12 oz.

Blind Assessment: Soft and balanced in the aroma with toasty notes of caramel, milk chocolate and nut. Rich acidity, silky mouthfeel and flavors that balance the sweet milk chocolate and nut complex with a softly tart, citrus-infused cocoa. Not a long finish, but a sweet one.

Notes: Monserrate is produced by a community of 42 family farms near the town of La Plata in Huila Department. These farmers organized several years ago into the Associative Group of Producers of the New Millennium and have been expanding their numbers since. With two coffee houses located in California's state capitol Sacramento, Temple Coffee recently transitioned from serving coffee roasted by others to roasting its own. Who Should Drink It: Balanced, gently engaging, easy-drinking cup.

Coffee, more so than wine, is a continually changing product. Recent reviews, whether written by Coffee Review or readers, are most likely to reflect current versions of a given coffee.
