Coffee Review - Sumatra Aceh Ponkok by Johnson Brothers Coffee
94
Roast: Medium-Light Review Date: June 2010
Origin: Aceh Province, northern Sumatra, Indonesia. Price: $11.95/12 oz.

Blind Assessment: Intensely rich aroma: grapefruit, sweet-toned sandalwood and cedar. In the cup creamy body, penetratingly but gentle acidity, continued sweetly pungent fruit -- grapefruit, tart berry -- and aromatic wood. A juicy, flavor-saturated short finish turns crisply dry in the long.

Notes: Probably a very clean yet intense version of the traditional Sumatra wet-hulled coffee type with its richly fruity and pungent tendencies. Johnson Brothers Coffee Roasters is a distinguished small-batch roasting company. Visit www.johnsonbrotherscoffee.com or call 608-256-5282 for more information.

Who Should Drink It: The new style of Sumatra at its finest: Intense, exotic, yet graceful.
