Roast: Medium-Light Review Date: May 2010
Origin: Yirgacheffe growing region, southern Ethiopia. Price: $16.95/16 oz.

Blind Assessment: Lushly intense floral and lemony chocolate notes carry from aroma into cup. Lightly syrupy mouthfeel. The spicy, rose-like floral notes deepen to a moist pipe tobacco in the finish.

Notes: Certified organically grown. A tendency to high-toned floral and citrus sweetness has made the wet-processed coffees of the Yirgacheffe region, a lush range of hills in southern Ethiopia, among the world's most distinctive. Lamill is a resolutely high-end retail and wholesale roaster located in the Los Angeles area. Visit www.lamillcoffee.com or call 626-202-0100 for more information.

Who Should Drink It: A spicy, tea-rose-like twist to the floral notes and a fuller mouthfeel distinguish this Yirgacheffe from more typical versions of the origin.

Coffee, more so than wine, is a continually changing product. Recent reviews, whether written by Coffee Review or readers, are most likely to reflect current versions of a given coffee.
