El Salvador Pepinal Bourbon by Klatch Coffee Review | CoffeeReview.com
Roast: Light Review Date: December 2009
Origin: Usulutan Department, El Salvador. Price: NA

Blind Assessment: Aroma of sweet tangerine, caramel and muted flowers. The flowers become more pronounced in the cup, saturating the very bright, fruit-floral acidity. The tangerine-like citrus carries into the cup as well, complicated by soft suggestions of black currant and stone fruit. The finish is pleasingly sweet and fruit-toned.

Notes: From the Las Mercedes farm, the 2006 El Salvador Cup of Excellence winner, this lot is made up entirely of the heirloom Bourbon variety of Arabica. Formerly Coffee Klatch, Klatch Coffee is an award-winning small-batch roasting company based in the Los Angeles area whose resident barista and trainer, Heather Perry is a two-time United States Barista Champion. Who Should Drink It: Those who enjoy floral delicacy in a light-roasted coffee.
