Panama Elida Estate Natural by PT's Coffee Review |
Roast: Medium-Light Review Date: November 2009
Origin: Boquete growing region, western Panama Price: $14.95/16oz

Blind Assessment: Complex aromatic profile - spice notes read as cinnamon and cardamom, ripe stone-fruit sweetness and suggestions of chocolate. In the cup a syrupy mouthfeel supports an intense fruit character: honey-like Casaba melon, plum, nectarine. Cinnamon makes a return appearance in the smooth, caramelly finish.

Notes: Produced by the award-winning Elida Estate, this is a dry- or "natural-" processed coffee, meaning the beans were dried inside the fruit rather than after the fruit is removed, as is the case with the wet-processed or "washed" coffees more typical of Panama and Central America. Roasted at PT's Coffee, where the motto is "without the love, it's just coffee." Visit or call 888-678-5282 for more information.

Who Should Drink It: Intense flavor-saturated nose, cup and finish.

Coffee, more so than wine, is a continually changing product. Recent reviews, whether written by Coffee Review or readers, are most likely to reflect current versions of a given coffee.
