Guatemalan Finca Dos Marias by Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Review | CoffeeReview.com

Roast: Medium Review Date: August 2009
Origin: San Marcos growing region, southwestern Guatemala. Price: NA

Blind Assessment: Intense, sweet-toned aroma: cherryish fruit, hints of orange and flowers. In the cup rich, rounded acidity, fullish body, and continued cherry- and orange-toned fruit complicated by a dry, cocoaish chocolate. Simple, sweet finish.

Notes: Dos Marias is a long-established, impeccably run family-owned farm with impressive social and environmental credentials, including schools and clinics for workers and a large quetzal preserve. It is situated in the high, wet San Marcos region, near the border with Chiapas, Mexico. Green Mountain Coffee Roasters is one of the country's leading specialty roasters, offering a particularly wide-ranging variety of origins and roast styles. Who Should Drink It: Power with balance; a slightly darkish roast turns the acidity rich and deepens the classic fruit toward orange and chocolate.
