Guatemala Huehuetenango El Limonar Estate, Dark Roast by Johnson Brothers Coffee Roasters Review |
Roast: Medium-Dark Review Date: September 2006
Origin: Huehuetenango growing region, Guatemala. Price: NA

Blind Assessment: Intense, deeply rich aroma dominated by cedar notes with hints of plum or prune that lean toward semi-sweet chocolate. In the cup smooth and substantial in mouthfeel, powerful and balanced, but limited in nuance. Like the cup, the finish is structurally impressive (rich, clean) but simple.

Notes: Huehuetenango is one of the most admired of Guatemalan coffee growing regions. Johnson Brothers Coffee Roasters is a distinguished small-batch roasting company. Visit or call 608-256-5282 for more information.

Who Should Drink It: Those who prefer simple rooms and little decoration.

Coffee, more so than wine, is a continually changing product. Recent reviews, whether written by Coffee Review or readers, are most likely to reflect current versions of a given coffee.
