Danny O'Neill founded The Roasterie in the basement of his Brookside, Kansas home in November of 1993, the fruition of a love for coffee that began fifteen years earlier when he was an exchange student in the coffee fields of Costa Rica.
Today The Roasterie is one of America's leading specialty roasters, with a new Kansas City facility and a growing scrapbook of awards and publications. Danny has led the expansion the entire way, with a passion for pure and exceptional coffees and friendships forged throughout the coffee world.
He is a past president of the Specialty Coffee Association of America and has served on numerous international green coffee juries, including those for competitions in Brazil, Costa Rica, Panama, Guatemala, Nicaragua and India. He narrated and hosted the well-received DVD "Cupping 101" produced by The Roasterie.
Danny is supported in his search for coffee excellence by Norm Killmon, master roaster with over thirty-five years of hands-on experience in coffee.
